S22 Back in Business

Only Allan and Pete this week, leading to some intense trading and plotty stuff rather than high adventure; but then a mix week to week makes for a healthy campaign! Handily, Steve’s character was laid out in his own Autodoc.

Slavers’ Bay, Somewhere Outside, Collace/District 268/Spinward, 321/1105

Over the next week, the crew of the Short Walk resumed their lives. Word came that title to the island and its’ base - not legally registered to anyone since mining in the mountain was abandoned - was theirs. They set about some home improvements.

The end doors were upgraded to make a seal, and atmosphere purifiers put in to clean the air inside the caves. The ground around the base was pulverised, and lights and irrigation fitted. A sensor suite was procured locally and installed on the peak, cables run down the same duct as the radio.  The G-Carrier was repaired and cleaned, seats re-installed in the troop bay and the main gun replaced..

The others rolled for Steve’s character’s recovery; the second roll was terrible, but things improved after that!
Wombat was spark out in the Autodoc. After a day’s rest he recovered consciousness and got up to help, but overdid it and became dangerously feverish. Banished to the bay, he would eventually recover after reaching Tarsus on 344.

The police reported that, of the five drop torps, they had tracked them as follows;

  1. Crystos Island, 10km from the site of the incomplete arcology containing Crystos Castle. Tracks were found leading away and heading for the construction site, but were lost.
  2. Southern end of the Pribena peninsula in Nasina, 2,500 km from Tirla City. Found smashed on landing with no signs of an occupant.
  3. 25km from Kelroth Arcology in Udone; the occupant, Jerold Jeansonne, was rather glad to be captured as he was freezing in a thin ship jumpsuit.
  4. In the Cektedni mountains in western Ronomor. Search ongoing.
  5. In the sea near Staerla City, Primoa. The police concluded that any occupant must have been killed and did not investigate.

Time pressures mean I have fallen back to bullets for this week's logs. Sorry and carrots. Here's a nice security bot for a consolation prize.
